Synthetic Album Cover - Zara Larsson

Zara Larsson is a Sweedish Pop artist who has recently become famous in 2016, her hit single being Lush Life. Through a number of reasons, we can see that she places into the synthetic category when regarding Negus' theory.

  • The Font - Bold so it stands out to the audience. The name of the artist is much larger than the name of the album - a tactic used by music companies to try and gain acclaim for the artist.
  • Makeup - Upholding the made up look of modern synthetic artists - trying to achieve the perfect look.
  • Pastel/girlie colours - Appealing to a younger, more childish audience - showing synthetic/temporary.
  • The pose/overall look - Artist seems very similar to many other artists - company just using her as temporary option.
  • Message - Album clearly does not have a meaning or a purpose - Typically synthetic.
