Lighting Designer Meeting

Today we had a lighting director come and speak to us about the different lights on offer and which ones are going to specifically be needed for our music video.
These are the ones listed :

Atomic 3000 DMX : For Strobe lighting. Can change the speed depending on the vibe you want to create. Really bright in comparison to a normal bulb(60W).

UV Canons : For UV light(technical name black light). Normally reacts to white but it needs to be strong white. Rest of room needs to be dark.

Rosco : good paint company for lighting. 

Basic profile light (spotlight) : 25-50 degree tungsten lights (similar to daylight). Can put gels on them to change the colour to any colour you wish. Includes shutters to change shapes.


Thomas 4 CYC : Mainly used for green screen and infinity screen. It evens out the entire green screen surface meaning there are no shadows which makes the job easier.

Galaxy LED : Soft light. Beauty light, soft box style. The light melts at whatever you point it at. It is designed to create nice lighting. You can change the colour temperature. 

Pixel line 1044 : shorter than a meter. Made up of LED lights. Create a variety of different effects. Example: Tesselate, Hurtwood 2014. 

Wash lights : Can be used for several different things. Has a frosted edge so it washes out everything. A top hat is used to stop excess light going around the room. 


Mac 700 profile : The most versatile light. Any colour, hard or soft. Can make them static.
