Kyle Cooper - demo reel continued

As well as Dawn of the Dead, another thing that caught my eye was a clip from the opening title sequence from Spider-Man 2. Kyle Cooper created the opening title sequences for all 3 spider-man movies, however this was considered to be his best.

The opening sequence is created as if it were a cartoon or comic book. The shots are made up of memories from the last film yet the shots are illustrated as if drawn and meant to be in a comic book. I thought this was original and stood out to me personally as it was something I had not seen before. I also liked how Cooper made it as if it were a comic as Marvel, the producers, were comic book film makers.

The font was white, in capitals and large which made them stand out, especially against the blue and red background. transition between each shot was done through a shot of a spider-web and the camera was moving in a motion that represented a spider so the audience felt involved in the action.

The sound throughout was the spider-man theme tune which would make the audience excited, as many audience members would have recognized the tune from the previous film. The music consisted of violin's and trumpets which sounded victorious, furthering the strength of spider-man.

The sequence starts off in the exact same way the first one does, which keeps similarity between the series of films. This familiarity with the sequence, makes the audience think that this film will be a success like the last which would make them more intrigued to see it.

There were very little if not no shot changes as the whole sequence happens in one big fluid motion, to reflect the movement of a spider. This illustrates a journey that both the characters and audience are on making the experience more real for them.
