Kyle Cooper is an American designer of motion picture who studied interior architecture at the University of Massachusetts then carried on to study graphic design at Yale University. Cooper believed that opening title sequences, during the 90s, were lacking creativity and modernisation so it was his aim to go outside the box and create something of creative difference.
Cooper, throughout his career so far, has founded many different successful creative agencies, making him respected all throughout Hollywood. People who work in film admire Cooper for his originality and confidence to do something different and take risks, which is why a lot of Hollywood directors want to work with him to give their films originality. Cooper’s style normally coincides with thriller, horror or action genre films as he normally tends to do openings of a dark nature which would not work in a comedy, for example, with the exception of Zoolander.
During his career he has directed over 150 film title sequences making him, along with Saul Bass, one of the most successful graphic designers in history. Some of these titles include: -Braveheart(1995) -Seven(1995) -The Mummy(1999) -Dawn of the Dead(2004) -Superman Returns(2006) -Sherlock Holmes(2009) -Tron: Legacy(2010) -American Horror Story(2011) -Iron Man(2008) -Spider Man(2002) -The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo(2011) As well as film, he does many adverts for video games, products and more. For example, he created an advert for Pepsi. He is also one of the few graphic designers who have been asked to design for the Oscars, furthering his respect within the industry.
